So who am I? My name is Tom, I live in the UK and work as a Network Engineer, I’m currently studying for multiple IT certifications including my CCNA and studying part time with the Open University for my BSC in Computer Science.
I love working out why something does what is does and learn best when hands on, and so once I learnt about home labs I was obsessed with the idea of having my own environment to learn in.
Due to one thing and another normally space, I haven’t ever been able to have the Home Lab I “wanted”, I’ve been messing about with Raspberry Pi’s in various forms of configurations to host my own services and got a NAS but apart from that my setups have been pretty simple.
However as myself and my partner are now moving into our own home and I have somewhere to actually work call my own I’m looking forward to my journey of making a home lab I am proud of and learning new skills and knowledge along the way.
Hence why I started this blog! I wanted a place to ramble my thoughts away about what I was doing and why, mainly so in the future when I inevitably break something I can use this as a reference but also because someone else might find it interesting.
All in all this isn’t going to be something which is uploaded to regularly at the moment but I am hoping I may do and along the way provide some entertainment or even guidance to others, if you find any of the posts or projects interesting please get in touch either via the socials or using the comments it would be great to make a small community of like minded people!
